Nana and Papa in Van: Botanical Gardens, Lynn Canyon, Sea to Sky, Poutine

My parents came to visit the end of March/beginning of April.  I thought about breaking this into a few posts, but instead it will just be long and jam-packed with pics. :)

These first ones are from a night that my parents watched the girls while Braden and I went on a date.  We were going to go somewhere close and then couldn't find anywhere we wanted to go that didn't have a long wait and long story short we went to Stanley Park to the Tea House.  It was the restaurant that Braden went to when UBC flew him out.  All our looking for somewhere to eat paid off because the sun was setting over the ocean when we sat down.  The pictures don't do it justice but it was really great.

We had intermittent rain the whole time my parents were there (with the exception of our date night).  We didn't let it stop us!  We went to the botanical gardens one afternoon.

We drove the sea-to-sky highway.  It goes to Whistler and we made it almost to Whistler but needed to turn around for the poor babies.  We stopped at Shannon Falls and it was beautiful.

We went to Lynn Canyon another day.  Lynn Canyon has a suspension bridge across the canyon and it's free!  There is a similar attraction nearby (Capilano Canyon) except there it is a $30 fee per person.  I think it might be a little fancier but we had a great time. The bridge was a little scary for me at first.

A Dr. Seuss tree covered in moss.
Some beautiful moss covered trees (stumps) :)

The waterfall below the bridge

There was a trail on the other side of the canyon that we started but didn't finish because it started raining

POUTINE!  A Canadian (Quebecois) delicacy.  We finally experienced this with my parents.  Fries, gravy, and cheese curds.  Think cheesy mashed potatoes and gravy.

Even Soph got in on the action!

And a cute pic of our little Lu taken that weekend.
